We believe it is our responsibility to improve the community and environment that we all share. From the solar-power array on our manufacturing facility to using green products, we have modeled our business practices to promote action and cultivate awareness of environmental sustainability. We hope individuals and other organizations will join us in developing ethical practices for a greener tomorrow.

In 2008, PHCNW’s manufacturing facility received a major facelift in the form of an 858 kW solar array, which is currently the largest single-roof array in the Pacific Northwest. Visible from the ground, the array is made of 4,830 panels covering 72,000 square feet of the host-facility roof. The array will annually reduce greenhouse gas emissions by nearly 640 tons – that’s about the weight of six blue whales! The emission reduction benefits and other renewable attributes of the PHCNW project are sold to Bonneville Environmental Foundation and the Energy Trust of Oregon.

Long before "green" and "sustainable" were popular buzz words, PHCNW Janitorial Services was extensively testing and utilizing environmentally-friendly cleaning products. We offer unique cleaning programs to fit each of our customer's specific needs. We always select products based on: chemical impact, water and energy use, container and packaging waste, and shipping cost. We hope you will join us in our efforts to reduce waste disposal, promote recycling and prevent pollution at the source.
In 1996, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department helped us create a wildlife refuge and wetlands pond on PHCNW property. All of our runoff is directed through a bioswale before it’s filtered into the Columbia Slough. We’re happy to provide a livable environment to families of beavers, osprey, blue herons, wood ducks, and other fowl and fauna that call PHCNW home.
