A Long-Term Commitment
Advocating access, training, legislation and coordination of work opportunities for people with disabilities is our long-term commitment. Among minority groups in this country, people with disabilities have the largest unemployment rate at 65%. Finding a job is key to living with dignity and security without relying on public assistance. Most persons with disabilities want a chance, not a handout. PHCNW works at local, state and federal levels to create jobs for unemployed persons with disabilities and to preserve affordable housing for the working poor, elderly and disabled.

Support Programs
The PHCNW staff provides training programs for GED (high school equivalent) certificates and ESL (English Second Language) curriculums. These help ethnic minorities with disabilities become proficient in English so that they can find work.
