Employing a thousand members of the community
Portland Habilitation Center Northwest (PHCNW) is a Qualified Rehabilitation Facility (QRF). PHCNW delivers contracted services in custodial, landscaping, light industry and administrative services. According to the Portland Business Journal, PHCNW is the sixth largest non-profit organization in the region. PHCNW is not affiliated with any social service agency. Funding from government sources constitutes less than 1% of our annual operating budget. PHCNW operates on a sound business principle: “Deliver consistent high quality reliable services and the work will follow."

Mission

Our mission is to assist individuals with disabilities by providing the training they need to develop their skills so that they may obtain and maintain meaningful work.

Mission Values and Ethical Standards Statement

PHCNW provides contracted services for the following:
  Janitorial/Custodial
  Landscaping
  Administrative Support
PHCNW Industries – Assembly – Manufacturing – Warehousing
  Property Management

Beyond Limitations™
The growth of PHCNW is rooted in the individual commitments and efforts of our workforce. By encouraging personal initiative, our theme, “Beyond Limitations™," occurs when individuals achieve the unexpected, continuously improving their work performance and delivering value to our customers. Our success is anchored in quality checks of activities and processes, as well as ongoing training.

Promoting Diversity
PHCNW serves individuals with a diversity of disabilities. Many non-profits are able to assist workers with only certain types of disabilities. Many rely on case management fees from families and agencies to fund their work. Over 25 years ago, PHCNW chose to take a different approach in order to provide jobs, not just advocacy. Our work is based on providing opportunities to succeed and become contributing members of the community—earning living wages, paying taxes, raising families and living independently.
